Architexture 3: 17 June 2005
Welcome to Architexture, a monthly newsletter from the Architecture
Centre Network (ACN) - the independent body representing architecture
and built environment centres in the UK.
Architecture Week 2005 Special
Get Closer to Architecture
Architecture Week is the national celebration of contemporary architecture
and the built environment, now in its ninth year, organised and managed
by Arts Council England.
Starting today and running until the 27th June, Architecture Week
aims to bring buildings to life through a series of visual and sensory
experiences. Access, performance, talks and collaboration will be a central
part of this unique week, which in 2005 aims to give people the chance
to experience the full force of architecture in a very personal way.
Architecture Week is an Arts Council England and Royal Institute of British
Architects joint initiative in association with the ACN and our members
have this year produced a bumper package of over 50 events across
the country.
So in this special edition of Architexture we feature highlights
from architecture and built environment centres across the ACN in 2005
who in Architecture Week this year will be encouraging us to get just
that little bit closer to architecture.
